Abstract

This article explores the role of interactive and student-centered approaches in teaching written translation within contemporary translator education. The study examines the theoretical foundations of learner-centered pedagogy and analyzes the effectiveness of interactive teaching methods in developing students’ translation competence. Particular attention is paid to collaborative learning, group translation activities, peer assessment, problem-based tasks, and classroom discussions as tools for enhancing students’ engagement and active participation in the learning process. The article argues that interactive and student-centered approaches foster critical thinking, learner autonomy, decision-making skills, and professional translation competence. Furthermore, these methods contribute to creating a dynamic learning environment in which students actively construct knowledge through cooperation and reflection. The findings provide practical recommendations for integrating interactive and student-centered methodologies into written translation classes in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of translator training.
